Darcy Proposed..

Darcy proposed. Of course I resfused, but he proposed? He said it was against everything he believed in. He said he tried not to, but against all odds. He did it anyway. I'm still thinking about last night and what all happened. Today, as I was trying to avoid him, he spotted me and handed me a letter. After I read it I was angry, but after I reread it, I had no other option but to be angry and dissapointed at myself. I have always prided myself on being level headed and open minded, but it seems now I have been led to do the opposite. I intend to talk to Colonel Fitzwilliam to see if what Mr. Darcy has said is true. I still can't believe that Wickham had lied to me..

My encounter with Colonel Fitzwilliam

Earlier today when I was walking, I was met by Colonel Fitzwilliam. He had mentioned that Darcy was in control of the departure date for them to leave Rosings. Later in the conversation he had mentioned that he thought Bingley to be much indebt to Mr. Darcy for having saved him from a bad marraige. I have concluded that Mr. Darcy is in fact responsible for Jane's misfortune in love. I can only assume that he broke off the marriage because of social reasons, for Jane herself has no bad qualities and is by far the sweetest woman I know. I plan to confront Mr. Darcy on this affair the next time I see him.

Mr. Darcy And I

Mr. Darcy came into the room I was in, unknowing that the other ladies were not present. Charlotte seems convinced that he is in love with me, but I must argue that he only stayed because there was nothing else going on. She also tries to persuade me that one day we will end up together which, under my power, I will not ever allow to happen as long as I shall live. I would rather die than have to marry that fowl man. Colonel Fitzwilliam on the other hand, is a very engaging man and comes to Rosings for the society.

Tonight in Rosings:

I played the piano for Colonel Fitzwilliams and Mr. Darcy. Although I may not be as talented as Georgiana, I havent practiced very often. I think I am capable of doing better with more time. I think the Colonel is a gentleman; however, my opinion on Mr. Darcy has become unswayed due to his rudeness and attitude towards Wickham and myself. Tonight he attempted to intimidate me as I sat to play.
