Lydia continues to amaze
I was shocked. How can she be so foolish as to elope with Wickham?? I should hav told her that he was no good, but instead I sat back and there is nothing to be done now. Surely this is devastating for both sides, we have no money nor does he. Oh Lydia, when will she ever learn?

Let her make her own mistakes, dear. She will be okay. She is a beautiful girl and he is a handsome man. All we can do is hope for the best and wish them a happy marriage!
